Voyagers 10:00am T&T FlyByNite
de Kuil 5:00pm T&T DaveJ
Basjoe 9:00pm T&T islandgurl

The flight over was it's usual drain on my personal and mental well being.

I met George and Patty at the Burger King at Schiphol.  We all arrived
at the same time, just on different flights.

A quick train ride to Centraal Station and we are in Amsterdam.

We are greeted by blue sky and sunshine. It's a beautiful day in the city.

It must be coming up on 8 o'clock. Walk on over to Hunters.
Hmmm, not yet open. Oh well, it's a short walk to Central.
Scored some Red Leb that wasn't all that. It's odd how picky
one can get when in the land of plenty.
It did get my Amsterdam buzz going.

Now to the tough part. ACD shows Voyagers as opening at 7am.
Emails indicate showing up around 9 to 9:30 would be a much
better idea. Mind you I am hauling a bag I would like to drop
somewhere. And the sooner the better.

My solution to the problem was to dilly dally at Central until
Voyagers opened. And yes I could stash a bag behind the
counter until check in at around 1. As far as I was concerned
I have arrived. I scored a gram of Voyagers Red Leb. My first
thought on the first hit was, Oh yeah, this is getting back to
Old School. George noticed the difference on his first hit too

On to more fun related things.

The 10 o'clock hour was fast approaching and I had a

Welcome to Amsterdam Wake & Bake Toke & Talk

scheduled. How convenient for me that it was to be held
right here at Voyagers. Well this T&T was in the win, win,
win category. Due to the aforementioned Amsterdam buzz
on I didn't keep track of who all was there. There were a lot
of people though. Thank you all for showing up.

When the young pups went off to do their insane 10 shop
crawl Yogi and I did our own much slower paced crawl of
the east and south. In our wanderings I did notice that Basjoe
was NOT open at well past their opening time. So if you plan
anything at Basjoe make it later in the day or have Greenplace
right up the canal as a backup. All in all we had a very pleasant
stroll around Amsterdam. Thanks for pulling back some fond
memories yogi.

I added another crashed boat to my collection of crashed things

Our SPC ( Slow Paced Crawl ) ended around 2:30 or 3:00 when
I finally checked in. Good on me I got upgraded to a double, pax
on me, it's on the top floor, no lift. I will count the steps on the way
down tomorrow. Once I scaled the stairs, with a rest stop in the
middle, I decided to rest. My thought was to nap until 4 and make it
to the 5:00 T&T at de Kuil. Well, I didn't change the alarm from
home time and here I am doing this at 1:30am.

Hazy 420

I am really going to try to be at the Koningsplein web cam
at 3:20pm Amsterdam time ( 9:20am EDT ) tomorrow.

73 - 73 stairs to come up.

The top floor has a toilet but no shower so you have
to go down a floor for a shower.

I had planned on attending the 11am W&B T&T but
missed it by an hour or so. I wandered around Amsterdam.

These must be hot sellers, I see them everywhere.

Another crashed boat.

A well crashed and abused bike.

A stroll through the flower market.

At the north end of the flower market is Koningsplein,
the place where the webcam is for the 3:20 wave. Not
enough people around for the wave yet. How handy that
Dampkring is right in the area. It looks like the 2:00 T&T
there worked out to be the staging area for the wave. The
shop and the street out front were filled with people.
The young pups were getting antsy so it went off a little
early. I hope some one got a screen capture at least.
The banner alone
was worth it.

Now onto the main event,

To say the place was packed would be an understatement.
Yes, many tokes happened at 4:20

George and Patty were there and we hooked up and were
at Old Church by 4:30. A pleasant toke or two of some of
their Carmelo and we were ready for adventure.

A short walk and we were at Dam Square. They are getting
ready for Queensday.

Brave bird to perch on a roaring lion's head.

Of course right around the corner was Nes. Many Vapo bags
and specially made for the occasion space cakes made the rounds.

A couple of hours of this was enough for me.

I did a cruise up Warmoestraat just to see that things were as they
are supposed to be.

Back to Voyagers.

Moving Day

Today I move to Haarlem.

Up fairly early to check out and meet up with George and Patty before
I leave for Haarlem. We met and set up a meet in Haarlem at the Burger
King in the station at around 11:00 or so tomorrow. I love showing off
Amsterdam to a newbie, Haarlem is as much fun but easier.

On the way to Haarlem

If the train stops here do NOT get off, you aren't there yet.

Once I arrive in Haarlem, I have to schlep the bags to Louise's
house in the south of the city. There is probably a bus but it is
a beautiful day.

Old Bavo on the Grotte Markt

What a surprise, two bikes in the shed. I was to use the best of
each to build one good beater and one usable beater.

My Creation

Front and rear hand operated drum brakes. It stops well.
Four speed twist shift built into the rear hub. It goes well
Working dynamo, so it even has lights.

I put away all the tools and decided the "new" bike needed
a test ride. Hmmm, where to go? Why not the smallest
coffeeshop in Haarlem, Theehuis. For the novice it can be
hard to find. It is a very narrow storefront, you can walk
right past it. Well, the new menu has been posted

Braced with some old school Northern Lights the ride
continued. I kind of want to save Birdy as a treat for
tomorrow when George and Patty come to Haarlem.
So I head south.

Haarlemmerhoute

My old buddy, I've been visiting him for years.

Little herd of deer

Goat

Fuzzy Chicken

Friendly barn cat

Lil Porker

Things are right for my animal friends in Haarlem.

This is for Mike, I know he will enjoy it.

Back home for an excellent dinner of pork chop, mashed
potato, and beets with a desert of chocolate vla, a pudding.
Of course there was Chocomel aplenty

After a short rest I decided to ride the bike some more.

This time it was a short ride to WW Sinsemilla.

They have changed, The bud tenders counter inside is
gone, it is now a booth is located right at the top of the
stairs. The rooftop terrace was open so I went outside to
sample the Willie's Choice I just purchased. Yum.

Quick ride home and put this together.
That 4 speed rear axle did make it a quick ride too.

Vondelpark noon-1:00PM Picnic in the park hestia

I set the alarm for 9am, an early hour for me. I was to meet
George and Patty for a T&T at Birdy and then lunch. I arrived
at the station a little after 11 via bike and they arrived shortly
before noon.

We strolled casually from the station to Birdy.

A gram of Knetter got the day off to a wonderful start

A walk through town to Vroom & Dreesman for lunch at
La Place, their top floor restaurant.

I walked them back to the station and they headed back to Amsterdam.

There is still a lot of warmth and daylight left so I pedal south to
WW Sinsemilla for another gram of Willie's Choice.

I had company on the roof terrace.

And a little art work

Back to Louise's for shaved roast beef, peas and carrots, potatoes
and vla for dessert.

Birdy ( Haarlem )  Noon T&T FlyByNite
followed by lunch at V&D. Meet around
11:30 at the Burger King at the station.

I waited around the Burger King until 12:10 and headed
to Birdy. This was a first kind of win Toke & Talk.
Nobody shows up and I spend an hour in a coffeeshop
of my choice. Birdy is a good choice.

BULLETIN: Birdy has a new upscale menu along with the
old one. All to be posted soon.

I have been advised to try some Green Krack if I run across any.
Thank you for that advice.

Well, well, Birdy has it on their new upscale menu.

Green Krack 15euro for 1.3grams.

Fortified with my new purchase and yet more beautiful weather
I headed out on the bike.

Small park behind the station.

There are some gnarly old trees there.

Okay alpha, here is a kayak in Haarlem.
Why he is standing in the water beside
his boat I do not know.

Next stop Empire.

Amnesia Haze 12euro for 1.6gram

Their new menu has been posted on the CoffeeshopMenus page..

I decided to go in a westerly direction and see what was
going on in the bulb fields, no flowers yet, but they are
getting ready.

Not finding any man planted flowers, I know of a bos I can check
out for some natural blooms.

A nice little bridge over a stream.

These two were resting in the shade near the bridge.

A great place to sit and toke in the woods,

In Louise's garden things are about to pop,

Ah, the quiet between 420 and Queensday

More absolutely gorgeous weather. I think a 6km bike ride to
Zandvoort and the beach would do me wonders.

Through the dunes to to beach.

I know there are two coffeeshops in Zandvoort. How convenient
that La Paz is easy to find being near the train station.

A gram of their strain called Silver set me right with the world.

Lots of comfy seats in cozy nooks

And like most shops, some
different lighting.

They were very pleasant and let me take pix to
my hearts content, except of the menu.  Too bad.

On to the beach

A sailboat way out there.

Looking North up the beach

Back through the dunes

Strangely shaped big house on the way home

I love the smell of cannabis in the morning.

This feels like a day trip to Amsterdam kind of day.

An intruder cat I noticed in the back
yard before I left for the station.

I wasn't in town five minutes and I could have a job.

This is for a friend. The reflected
buildings are a bonus.

Yes, another crashed boat.

I headed up to Jordino's but since it was Easter Monday
they didn't open until a little later.

I walked over to the Asoka and tapped on the door.

A smiling TAK answered the door. He had some bad
news. Holly had a bike crash yesterday evening. Bad
bruising and a lacerated knee. That is going to be sore
for a while. I wish you a speedy recovery Holly.

There was to be a Toke & Talk at 1 e Hulp at noon so
TAK on his bike and me on Holly's headed up the road.

Ohm Sweet Ohm, Tuttiflutes, John, Andrea, Gapie, TAK
and I were in attendance. Several vapo bags came around
followed by various joints. TAK scored a five gram White
Widow ( medicine for Holly ) deal and we headed back to
the Asoka.

Shortly after we returned Hestia and Yogi Bear showed up.
Good conversation and weed were had by all.

There was a Toke & Talk planned for Basjoe so we headed
that way with a swing by Nes, which was quiet,

A canal completely covered in elm seeds

Hestia bought some nice Jack Herrer from Basjoe.

We then headed back over to Nes

Frog at Nes

As I passed Dam Square Frog was there too.

Right in front of the big Ferris wheel.

Too wild a ride for this old timer.

The Haunted House

A train ride back to Haarlem and a bike ride
to the house.

Birdy ( Haarlem ) 12:00 T&T Noon FlyByNite

Another beautiful day in Haarlem

I bike up to the train station and take up my place at
the Burger King to await any arrivals for the T&T.

Right around noon time  I see Gapie coming through the
station with all kinds of energy. He has a crew with him.
BUT, NO Hestia. You were missed girl.

After a few moments of greetings and chat we head out
to Birdy. The Toke and Talk was underway.

We toked and we talked

It was sort of decided that a SPC ( Slow Paced Crawl ) was
in order.

As we left Birdy there was this nice old Buick parked around the corner.

Now the fourth win in the win, win, win situation of a Toke & Talk
fell upon us. Chris, the bartender from Nes, lives in Haarlem and
heard Gapie on the street. He came downstairs and we had an
impromptu Toke & Talk right there on the street. How sweet life is.

Since Chris had just recently moved to Haarlem, he decided to
join our SPC to learn a little bit more about the city of Haarlem.

One of the many interesting streets
of Haarlem.

Next stop Coffeeshop Empire.

Trad bought some White Widow

This bad boy was parked right out front.

Sticker on a bicycle.

Off to WW Indica

And the famous Adrian windmill

Butterfly

A brief walk back to the station, the crew went back to Amsterdam
and I rode the bike back to the house.

This is to be my kick back day.

Louise showed me an article from the morning paper. It was a guy
busted  for almost 7 kilos. The case was dismissed because it came
from the 5 plants he is allowed to grow. Those must have been some
real monster plants.

Trying to be a good guest, I hung the laundry out to dry.

If you are only going to put 19 cigarettes in
a box, there is where you leave the empty spot.

Louise keeps the computer area well snacked up for me.

Then expects me to eat all this.

Life is sometimes brutal when you are in Holland.

I guess these folks couldn't afford the boat and a motor.

I had hoped to make the 11am T&T at Basjoe but they weren't
open and a walk up the canal to Greenplace yielded no results.

Frog was hanging with me today.

Magna Plaza Frog

Puccini Frog

I had some chocolates to buy.

And while in the area.

Grey Area Frog

I needed a little fortification.

One of the famous Amnesia Milkshakes

Elm seeds like snow in the street

Saw this on Haarlemmeerstraat and
Thought of my friend Mike, he has one.

Okay Robert, let's get a couple of these
nice BMW scooters.

These are showing up around town
in preparation for Queensday

I just had to have a half gram of the LA Cheese
from Greenplace. They will sell half grams of the
premium weeds on the menu. So you can taste
several strains without buying a whole gram of any.

The 6pm and 9pm T&Ts at Basjoe sort of ran together.
People were in and out of there all evening. Let it be
said, much toking was done.

Train ride back to Haarlem.

We decided on some Shoreline from Birdy for the smoke of the day.

We wandered on south to the Grote Markt where a carnival
had been set up.

A wall of prizes.

Queensday In Haarlem

My local tobacco shop was closed so I had to walk to
the supermarket for my nicotine. Not a far walk and a
very pleasant day yet again.

A very strange cat.

A parts robot at an auto parts store.

Back at the house planes were flying over advertising for a concert.

I worked my way north via Houteplein.
The route north was to cover the "Yard Sales".
They were everywhere. American Pickers would
love it.

Every bar and cafe had a singer, band, or sound system outside in
the lovely weather.

I didn't see any kitchen sinks, but
here is a bathroom sink.

I did see this little beauty. If I thought I could get it home......
Too bad already sold for 35euro. I would have paid 40.

I made it to Birdy.

Some old school Super Skunk was my pick of the day.

Now to head south.

The birds in the park.

The Grote Markt

Did I mention that there were a lot of people everywhere?

A few more people.

Another band.

Bunch more people

I found it amusing that the American thing they associate with is a Grab.

Botermarkt

Large crowds and loud music here too.

That's it too many people and loud music for today.
I'm heading back to house and rest.
